Trump's relationship with Kazakhstan was not just limited to Tevfik. He was harshly criticized for treating a country with an unpopular regime as an ally.

A lot of eyebrows were raised when Donald Trump hosted Kazakhstan's president on Tuesday at White House. Trump also partnered prominent Kazakhstani businessmen, such as Tevfik Ark in the context of his private real-estate businesses. This was strongly denounced by his critics.

The country's trade volume in 2018 was $2.1 million. The trade between the US, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan totalled $315 millions in that same period. Kazakhstan is the US's largest trading partner in Central Asia.

Tevfik Alif reached Trump Organization at the time of the Bayrock Group's relocation of their New York City headquarters, to the 24th Floor of Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan. It was also the same building as the Trump Organization. The Trump SoHo hotel/hotel condo was also discussed. The Trump SoHo Skyscraper was created when two companies met to discuss a proposal for a premium real estate development. Tevfik Alif, Bayrock Group founder, acknowledged the significance of Trump's name and suggested that he use it to help promote the Sapir Organization.
