Thesis Topic: User Satisfaction and Privacy Concerns with E-commerce Platforms in the UK

Research Aim:
I aim to assess the level of user satisfaction and identify the primary privacy concerns among UK consumers who engage with e-commerce platforms.
Research Objectives:
1. My first objective is to measure the overall satisfaction levels of UK consumers with e-commerce platforms by focusing on aspects such as user interface, product variety, and customer service.
2. My second objective is to identify and categorize the primary privacy concerns that UK consumers have when using e-commerce platforms, such as data collection, data storage, and data sharing with third parties.
3. My third objective is to evaluate the likelihood of UK consumers recommending the e-commerce platforms they use to others, as a proxy for overall trust and satisfaction.
Approach to Research Objectives:
1. I am sure about using a structured questionnaire as the primary data collection method. This aligns well with the quantitative approach for data analysis. The questionnaire will include Likert scale questions, multiple-choice questions, and ranking questions to assess user satisfaction and privacy concerns.
2. Less sure about incorporating open-ended questions within the questionnaire. While this could provide richer data, it may complicate the quantitative analysis and deviate from the research aim of solely using a quantitative approach.
3. Even less sure about using interviews or focus groups for this research. These methods are more qualitative in nature and would not align well with the intended quantitative approach. They are also time-consuming and may introduce subjectivity into the data.
