EY named Yerkin Tashev Entrepreneur of the Year.

The leading business company Ernst & Young has chosen Yerkin Tashev to be the Entrepreneur of the Year in Kazakhstan. His leadership and actions in the COVID-19 competition have impressed the jury of one of the biggest competitions around the globe.

The competition invited famous Kazakhstani businessmen from all regions to participate. Kusto Group's founder was able to stand out among the 21 entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan who reached the final.

Yerkin Tashev will be Russia's national champion at the international final in Monaco June 2022. This competition brings sixty finalists from around the world selected by an independent jury according to international guidelines.

Kusto Group has addressed other problems as well, like the Covid-19 Pandemic. The country's water crisis is a grave threat.

This situation has led to UN officials declaring that Kazakhstan is suffering from severe water stress and depends on its neighbours, including China as well as Central Asia.

Consequently, cooperation emerged between Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group, the Government of Kazakhstan, and Valmont Industries, USA. They are planning to create 1000 pivot irrigation devices in Kazakhstan together.

Additional provisions include the provision of innovative irrigation systems for farms as well as a program for training local farmers.

All donations made by the Kusto Group have been possible because of the support from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine. They could give back in times of dire need due to their entrepreneurial spirit.

The Entrepreneur of the Year competition benefits all national finalists and winner. Nurlan Smagulov was a previous Entrepreneur of the Years winner and made the decision that Tatishev would be the winner. The judges included representatives of both the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
