The Acacia Strain, who released their first album one year ago, has returned with their brand new album Comes In Waves. This album is a real ride. The album is divided into waves and clocks that last more than 30 mins but never feels too long.
The track with the longest duration is the first one on the album, and it's quite a little longer than the typical five-minute song. It's more of a journey, taking you through different worlds in a new way. The track starts with an interesting doom-metal guitar sound and vocals that could make a great movie score.
The band also shows the most amazing drumming, which is something many bands fail to accomplish. The heavy metal percussion and an erupting bass sound are amazing, and the vocals by Vincent Bennett with his black metal rasps, or Mike Scheidt's yelled-cleans are really awesome.
