Minecraft 1.18 Release Date: What's Coming in Caves And Cliffs Part 2?

What's new in Minecraft 1.18, and when will it release? Together, 1.17 and 1.18 make the huge Caves and Cliffs update which will forever change the worlds of Minecraft with an abundance of new blocks, fascinating new resources, and stunning world generation changes that we'll go over in the next section.

Here's what you can expect from Caves and Cliffs Part 2 as well as the latest information regarding the Minecraft 1.18 release date.

Minecraft 1.18 will be released on November 30th , for both Java and Bedrock editions as announced on Minecraft.net. This update will be part 2 of the Caves and Cliffs update. 1.17 was originally planned to be released as a complete package. Mojang has decided to divide Caves and Cliffs into two major updates to give them to spend more time working on the huge changes these updates will bring to Minecraft.

And I really am talking about massive. Caves and Cliffs Part 1 introduced over 90 new block types, brand new creatures like Glow Squids, Goats and Axolotls, and new tools such as Lightning Rods and Spyglasses. Caves and Cliffs part 2 will completely alter Minecraft's terrain generation and fill the most secluded levels with a variety of new resources and strange objects. Let's review the Minecraft 1.18 update's features.

Terrain changes when you explore below Y=0.

Minecraft 1.18 is currently being revamped. You'll be able for the first time to dig below Y Level 0.

The new depth is -64. Below the Y=0 mark, you'll find yourself in what's known as the "Deepslate Layer", where blocks of stone are transformed into deepslate blocks. This is also true for veins of ore: you'll find copper, iron, gold, redstone, and so on in deepslate veins if you're below the Y=0.

The new underground terrain generation changes will allow you to discover all kinds of new cave structures in Minecraft 1.18. The Caves and Cliffs changes were to include the brand-new Deep Dark biome, but this biome, along with its dreadful occupant, the Warden has been delayed because of Minecraft 1.19: The Wild Update.

You'll also have to look elsewhere for Diamonds because the terrain changes. Learn more about how to find Diamonds in Minecraft.

Mountains that tower over you

Minecraft 1.18 is being redesigned. The mountains are now constructed in a different method. Instead of having just one or two "extreme hills" or "mountain" biomes There are now five sub-biomes which make up the various layers within each mountain.

- Mountain Meadow (Y=100-140): home to flowers and sweet berry bushes The Mountain Grove (Y=110-140): snowy, home to rabbits and polar bears. - Snowy Slopes, Y=140-170: home of goats. - Lofty Peaks (Y=170+): peaks of stone, snow, and ice. - Snow Capped Peaks (Y=170+) Similar to Lofty Peaks but cold enough to allow Packed Ice as well.

If you're watching those Y-Levels you'll see that 1.18 is increasing the maximum heights of mountains. Howmail.Net They were restricted to 140 Y before, but they are now able to reach Y=255. This is a great option for towers and castles on mountaintops.

However, not all mountains will be as tall as this. Only the highest mountains will be able to boast the new Lofty Peaks or Snow Capped Peaks biomes. But, these new terrain changes will surely provide a new feeling of exploration and discovery to the peaks of any 1.18 Minecraft world. You can be sure that I will be working hard to update our list of the top Minecraft seeds when part 2 of Caves and Cliffs is available!

Lush Cave and Dripstone Cave biomes

Caves and Cliffs part 2, which dives back into the earth and brings two cave types: The Lush Cave and Dripstone Cave.

Lush Caves are cool caves that are brimming with vines and moss. It seems like Lush Caves will be a great spot to practice parkour. I'm excited to see how these gorgeous caves look like when you use the best Minecraft shader packs.

Dripstone Caves are the home of the Dripstone blocks. These blocks naturally grow from the dripstone process to create organic-looking stalagmites and stalactites. Dripstone Caves, apart from their unique terrain, are functionally identical to other caves. However, they are highly sought-after just for the dripstone.

What about the other features promised in Caves and Cliffs Part 2?

Many of the notable additions originally planned to be released in Minecraft 1.18 have been delayed. They will now be available to us in Minecraft 1.19 at the earliest. It is expected to release around 2022. These include the Warden Sculk Blocks, the Deep Dark biome, the Deep Dark biome, and Sculk Blocks.

It's also been confirmed that at least three of the stalled features (namely: Bundles, Archaeology and Goat Horns) won't be included in the Wild Update either, though the Minecraft team are at pains to assure that none of these features will be cancelled. Still, it's sad news for those of us who have been most excited about these changes, but at least we'll soon have the chance to experience the huge new changes to the terrain that Minecraft 1.18 will bring.

That's a wrap on the major features and details of Minecraft's forthcoming 1.18 update. Installing the top Minecraft texture packs is the best way to transform your world and bring back the sense of discovery.
