Sociology (Movies)
-The imitation game
-Diary of a wimpy kid

The imitation game is a movie based on
During WW II a mathematician, Alan Turning tries to crack a supposedly uncrackable code on a machine communicator from the Nazi's called Enigma with the help of his fellow friends/other mathematicians. This movie shows subcultures from punks/bullies harassing geek/nerds, as the bullies are more sociable than the nerds with little communication skills.

[Breaking an unbreakable code]

[CARROTS & PEAS]
Alan Turning (benedict cumberbatch) is a nerd with mental disorders with an intelligent brain as an example of this is Alan obsessively separates the carrots from the peas, while a bully sees him doing his casual routine separating the food by colour, the bully pours carrots and peas all over him including the table for the satisfaction. This shows that certain cultures often don't mix well as they both have different satisfactions and thoughts from each other.

Task:
You must conduct a content analysis of;
• Two significant songs
• Two significant movies

A content analysis is an analysis of a text that focuses on the content (the story, the facts, the message – explicit or implicit), how the content is presented (the style, the techniques) and the effect it has (the purpose, the intended audience). You will be seeking to determine whether texts in a particular genre or medium convey a specific message explicitly or implicitly. To analyse the texts, you must first decide on a hypothesis: a prediction that you will seek to find evidence for. Then you must develop a coding tool so you can objectively distinguish evidence to support your hypothesis. This coding tool should take the form of a checklist of key words/symbols/ideas that you will look for in the texts. Your content analysis will take the form of a series of mini-essays of between 300-400 words in length, focusing on a single text each.
Each entry should: - briefly describe the content of the book, film, song, etc… - specify key elements of the text that relate to your hypothesis - evaluate the text You must then conclude by summarising your analyses and evaluating whether your hypothesis was supported or not
