The beloved shonen manga of Tatsuki Fujimoto has taken off to new heights of fame thanks to the hugely popular anime adaptation from Studio MAPPA that premiered in 2022. The anime isn't that different from the manga, but it has its own distinct aesthetic and style. Critics and fans have been raving about the bloody, violent series. The premiere season already has garnered good ratings and the series is continuing.
The saga seems to be ever-growing. There are also a lot of fan-made shonen projects. One of the most popular is a real-life cosplay of the character himself. The cosplayer is known as @p0takus in Instagram is well-known for his dark and elaborate costumes.
He was inspired by Chainsaw Man's character in the saga and has recreated the devil-hunter at a high level of detail. The result is a remarkably exact costume that will cause chills to the spine of anyone who is able to see it in person.
Attention to detail sets this cosplay apart from other costumes inspired by the series. The recreation of the helmet, the crimson covered body, and the functioning chainsaws are all spot on. Furthermore, the actor was able to incorporate a few extra touches like smoke machines as well as an a rotary chain driven by an MG90S-based servo motor, giving that authentic industrial feel.
The character is not only extremely realistic, but it is also very accurate in terms of action scenes. This is particularly relevant to the final chapter of the manga which featured the War Devil fighting a Falling Devil who spread terror by causing those who were victims to revisit their most frightening memories.
chainsawmancosplay will definitely have plenty of opportunities to shine as hero in the years to come. If the battle against the Falling Devil and its controller gun Devil Gun Devil, goes according to plan, it will be exciting to see the other battles that will be fought in the near future.
