Did you catch the American Idol finals in 2015 in between Taylor Hicks and Catherine What's Her Name? Who won? The one with the very best voice? Or the one with the most character?

I'm gon na tell you a trick, something no one ever tells business owners. It's not about being the best! It never was. So lots of entrepreneurs waste their time and money bragging about being the finest. "We offer the very best doohickeys ..." "We provide the very best customer support ..." '

It's dopey to brag about being the very best! Why? 'Cause
1. Everybody states it.
2. It's most likely not true.
3. We don't believe you anyhow
Don't fret about it, 'cause
4. We're not always looking for the very best.

Are they the finest? Not 30 years back when the song came out and definitely not now. Somehow a geriatric Rod got to wiggle his properties on American Idol along with Taylor Hicks!

The "It" Factor
In showbiz, there's an expression "You've got 'it'." What's "it"?

The factor they call it "it" is since it's tough to put it into words. It's got something to do with charm, magnetism, the power to hold an audience and attract. Honestly, Rod Stewart never did it for me, but Elvis certainly had "it".

I just saw a movie about Elvis' life. Why are people so fascinated by Elvis? Why are they still informing me "Tsufit, I simply saw Elvis at a convenience store!" when he died prior to Britney Spears was born? Why? Since a personality that huge never passes away.

Why was the guy such a star? Was it his look, his character, his voice, his music? It's probably all of those things-- together with this magical thing called "it", however even with Elvis, it took him a while to find his inner "it".

In the movie, a docu-drama (or shlock-u-drama), Elvis walks into Sun Records, a small Memphis recording studio, to sing for Sam Phillips. Elvis sings like Bill Monroe; he sings like Bing Crosby; he sings like the other day's news.

It wasn't a quickie, even for Elvis, to find his initial voice. Eventually he did find it.

What's this got to do with business owners? Whatever!
