Xbox Live Crash Leaves Millions of Gamers Inaccessible

Microsoft's online gaming platform Xbox Live suffered a major crash, leaving users unable connect.

A lot of gamers reported issues across the world when trying to sign up to the service that lets gamers play multiplayer games online and also purchase and download titles.

The company said it was working on a solution for the issue - but could not confirm the date it would return.

Thousand of gamers have reported issues around the globe while trying to sign up to the service that permits gamers to play multiplayer games online and also purchase and download titles.

'Our engineers and developers are working to solve the issue that has caused some members to experience difficulties connecting to Xbox Live,' it stated.

"Keep up with us, and thank you for your patience."

It comes days after Microsoft launched an attack on YouTube and Amazon's Twitch by purchasing its own livestreaming service.

The company announced the issue in a series of tweets but said it was still 'investigating' the issue.

The Xbox maker announced plans to acquire Beam Livestreaming, a live-streaming company located in Seattle and founded by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).

The teen who founded his company in January claims it has already reached 100,000 users.

It lets users influence and interact with the video game that is streamed unlike other streaming services.

Beam lets players suggest streamers challenges and even modify in-game elements such as weapons loadouts or quest selections.

Today, the Xbox maker announced plans to purchase live streaming service Beam founded in Seattle, a startup founded by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).

Developers can also design buttons that let viewers interact with the games being streamed on Beam.

"We at Xbox are excited by this convergence between watching and playing and want players to enjoy the freedom and choice of amazing multiplayer experiences across all Beam's platforms." Chad Gibson, a program manager of partner groups at Microsoft's Xbox Live division said in an announcement.

'This acquisition will help gamers enjoy the games they want, with the people they wantto play with, and on the devices they desire.'

The terms of the deal were disclosed.

He revealed how the system may be integrated with Minecraft.

'Using 'Minecraft' as one example with Beam you don't only watch your favorite streamer play, but you also play with them.

You can present them with new challenges and make real-time decisions that affect their gameplay, from selecting tools to quests, to movement all through simple visual controls.'

Salsamendi says Beam will continue to operate even as he and his team are integrated into the Xbox engineering group.

In an article on the Beam website, Salsamendi says the service has seen a rise of around 100,000 users following its launch in January of this year.

'As part of Xbox we'll be able scale faster than we've ever able to before", the author writes.

We're expanding our team, strengthening our infrastructure and, most importantly, we're continuing to grow and support the amazing community of Beam.'

THE XBOX ONE

The Xbox One S will come in a color known as 'robot white'.

It will have an internal power supply, in contrast to previous generations of Xbox which had external power packs.

However however, the Xbox One S will also be 40 per cent smaller than the previous model.

Microsoft claimed that the console will support 4K Ultra HD video, and will have up to 2TB of internal storage.

The new model will also have High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a wireless controller with a longer range.

Owners will be able to modify their controllers using Microsoft's Xbox design lab.
