How To Market Your Personal Brand: Tell The Story Behind It
Have you ever heard of the "Cody Wyoming Colon Cleanse" or the "Columbus Ohio Diet", or the "El-Paso Texas fruit rub?" No, needless to say you haven't. they don't really exist. But there exists a good bet you have heard about the Himalayan Diet, or Siberian Ginseng, as well as better the Rain Forest berry that cures all ailments. Why will be the best cures or solutions to something always references to areas on the other side of the world?

I do not want to obtain anyone upset who is selling something from any of these locations; but I think it is interesting that before something really takes off it first needs a great story. Just as people buy people, in addition they buy stories and usually personal stories. We all want to hear about a great story and feel just like we are part of something.

I am not condoning lying; I think you should be very honest when telling your story, but you won't need to tell the boring version. In the past I was doing a lot of public speaking and had a speaking coach explain something if you ask me that I thought was interesting. He explained that throughout my presentation I had a need to share several experiences that could reveal bits about who I was. I'd mention that I grew up on a farm to relate to the hard working down to earth seekers. I'd mention that I was a father and I originated from a big family to relate with the individuals that would be more interested in employing a family man. I'd tell a joke to greatly help people understand I had a feeling of humor and I'd always tell a story that would bring out my education or smarts on the precise subject. I'd tell a tale that helped my possible client relate to me and become more open to talking to me in more detail.

Never anytime would I deceive or lie about who I was. I was simply seeking to tell the best story that could help the audience relate and have the desire to work with me. Remember people buy people and they need to know who you are and that you are exciting.
