My Little Pony Plush
My Little Pony plush are collectible toys based on the Hasbro television show of the same name. These soft, cuddly creatures come in a variety of sizes and styles. Each pony has a unique character that is expressed through its body shape, color, and other features. Some ponies are scented as well, adding another level of sensory appeal to the toys. There are also several gimmicks included with some of the toys to add additional fun.


A number of plush based on the main characters in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic have light-up sections activated by pressing a button on their saddle. Known as Shine Bright ponies, they are available in the original 2010 release of each character and in a Canterlot line re-issue. The re-issue versions have different gimmicks, including one that causes the pony to flash her eyes and another that activates a song. The re-issues also differ in their appearance, with the original 2010 version having normal hair and a yellow saddle while the Canterlot line re-issue has tinsel in her hair and a purple saddle.



In addition to the gimmicks included with the Shine Bright ponies, some have a different sculpted cutie mark or eyes. There is a Playful Ponies version of Sweetie Blue, a blue Earth pony mare with pink hair and a cupcake cutie mark, that has been spotted online. Other single releases include Trixie Lulamoon with the cutie mark and eyes of Fluttershy, Lyra Heartstrings with the cutie mark and eyes of Rarity, and a Princess Twilight Sparkle version that has tinsel in her hair and comes with a crown.


There are also a number of smaller pony gimmicks included with the toys, such as a comb, mane clip, and mirror. The toys are designed to be handled by toddlers and feature a soft, fluffy fabric that makes them easy to handle. Many are sold individually and can be stored in a carrying case that doubles as a storage compartment.


The My Little Pony: Friendship Is magical line also includes non-articulate pony figures that are similar to those released in the previous generation. These toys are more expensive than the gimmick-driven Shine Bright ponies and are sold in a blind bag wave. They are also sold in sets based on various Equestria Girls locations.


Hasbro also launched a new series of My Little Pony toys in late 2011. The G3 line featured more articulated ponies with a more recognizable silhouette and different body shapes. They were released in a variety of playsets and other products, such as a castle playset and a princess carriage.


During this time, McDonald's introduced My Little Pony dolls as part of its girls' Happy Meal promotions. These included the main characters of Applejack, Cheerilee, and a pink version of Princess Celestia. My Little Pony T-shirts have a sculpted mane and tail, brushable tails, and a stand that comes apart into two combs.


An interactive My Little Pony 6V Plush Ride-on was also released, featuring the lilac unicorn Izzy Moonbow and her pony friends. This toy can sing a few songs and tell four stories based on episodes from the show. It can even move forward and backwards. It will cost around $89 when it is available in September at Walmart.
