Pugnacious Priest's Warcraft Blog

There are a lot of tools available to conduct an initial investigation regarding a player's application for your guild. It is dependent on how precise and serious the guild is about screening applicants beyond a written application an interview, the trial period. Mail Tegra Warcraft Realms is one tool. It will help you ask specific questions to someone. E.g. You have been in 10 different guilds since you turned 70. What was your reason for quitting? Although an application may not list all the guilds they have been involved in since turning 70, there are some that begin and end, disband and rename ect. This shouldn't be used to determine the quality of a person to join your guild. However, it could assist you in identifying inconsistencies, and even ask questions.

All you need is the players name and the realm. Warcraft Realms gives you a complete guild history, with typical disclaimers regarding the authenticity of your armory.

You can search for the name of the character to find the realms that Name is located on. Click on the toon for the appropriate realm, class, and race.

My profile shows First Seen Dec 31, 06 ( when I reached level 9 for the 1st time) Last Seen Aug 02 08( most recent Armory refresh)

Then it gives you the background of your guild.

What does this say about my character? I was in the same guild between level 15 and 65, so it was a leveling guild that I didn't raid prior to Burning Crusade. I was not high enough at level 66, so I left my home guild to join a guild that lasted just one month at 70. After being in the guild for six months, I changed guilds to join a new one which lasted more than one month. I've been in my current guild since March of this year.

Conclusions - ignoring the pre-70 years, and only looking at post BC raiding content. I've been 70+ for a full year and have had the chance to see Kara, ZA and TK as well as SSC, BT Hjyal and Sunwell. Doesn't mean I actually have however . I have a fairly stable guild history, meaning I don't have to change guilds each month since I turned 70. I have been part of three raiding groups. ( A Wow Jutsu Search would tell you about the individual progress of each guild and hence add weight to some of my experiences in raiding, as stated on application) I quit one guild after one month. I've also been in two guilds for a couple of month times. If the three guilds I mentioned weren't on my application as previous guilds I would like to know why?

I recently re-read about someone who was a member of our guild but was aware that over a short period of time, he guild wandered through all of the guilds with the highest level of raiding on our server. The guild he left wasn't in the best of terms. I am not sure if this person will apply to the other guilds however, his indecisiveness suggests that he has no record of staying around.

One indication that a player has transferred to one of the servers is the absence of guild history on the Warcraft realms. This means that they appear on the server at level 70. It is not difficult for those with a bad name to switch servers and change their names. However, Wow Progress, an armor crawler tool, comes with the ability to detect you to monitor server transfers. It is only available to May 11th of this year, but its another place to look if things do not seem to be working.
