You want your own Minecraft slime farm. We're not surprised, once you've broken them down, slime blocks are an excellent resource of slimeballs, which can be used to craft many different things like sticky pistons and magma cream. Don't let their cute, flat faces deter you, slime hasn't been cute since Flubber.

Minecraft slime is a hybrid of mob and block and bounces feverishly waiting to strike enemies. In fact they search for enemies in the 16-block distance, and if they don't find any they continue to spin and search for players to attack. In the event that they don't, they attack either iron or snow golem - this is useful to know when it comes to building your own Minecraft slime farm.



The slime in Minecraft can be found in swamps, or in the deep underground, depending on the light levels. They can swim, climb ladders, and creepily continue to move and search for players even if you're not to. These persistent little blocks drop up to five slimeballs, based on the size of the slime. Finding slime chunks is the first step. This can be quite an exhausting process. Below is a video that shows you how to locate a slime chunk and an excellent Minecraft slime farming style. Slime chunks can only be found below Y level 40 regardless of the level of light, although they can naturally spawn in swamps between Y level 50 and 70 in light levels 7 or less.



How the Minecraft slime farm operates is that it uses lit up layers to trap Minecraft slimes when they appear and then uses Iron Golems at the edge of the farm to lure any slime within 15 blocks to drop on a magma floor until they eventually explode. This will shower slimeballs for players to collect in minecarts zipping around underneath dropping slimeballs that have been collected into chests via hoppers.

It cleverly makes use of lighting to make sure other hostile creatures like skeletons and creepers don't spawn using your slime. It can be scaled in any way according to the needs of your slime.
