Recognising its power as an educational tool the game is free to download game is now offered to every secondary school in Northern Ireland.
The people who organize CultureTECH, a festival that takes place every year for the technology and creative industries, have received funding from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure to provide more than 200 schools with download codes. Each license is for a specific version of the game called MinecraftEdu that is designed specifically for the classroom. While it is not uncommon to see Minecraft in schools but this is the first time the game has been distributed across an entire area. Does anyone else wish you were a kid once more?
