Middle-click also Places Blocks Weirdly Enough

The initial version, that was released on December 2, 2009 was more restricted than any other version of Minecraft ever released to the public, including the pre-classic version available through the Minecraft Launcher. A new version was released on December 4, 2009, changed the controls and added the ability to widescreen, more blocks and the ability to put and remove blocks. [2]

The page that hosted the original game was removed in November 2014. You can still access the archive by using the Wayback Machine. The executable can also be accessed through the Internet Archive.

On December 2, 2012, Notch released a JavaScript version of Minecraft 4K. It isn't possible to move or look around in this version, however the camera or world does move by itself and there is a blue water-like block in addition to the other block types. [3]

1 Gameplay 1.1 General, 1.2 World 1.3 Controls

Gameplay[]

General[]

The player can put or destroy blocks. The only block a player can place is grass. This is similar to the first buildings.

Minecraft

internally called RubyDung that are available via the

Minecraft Launcher Launcher

. Leaves do not decay.

World[]

Each time the game is loaded it, the same 64x64x63 block universe is created. There are only two blocks in the game that are grass block, air, dirt block, stone bricks and bricks. No mobs exist.

The initial build of the game is only one type of block which uses a XOR fracture as a texture.

An invisible wall surrounds the world, preventing the player from escaping as in the bedrock that is invisible or an old world.

Controls[]

The player can move with the standard WASD controls, as well as jump using Space.

The standard Minecraft controls that allow left- and right-clicking are reversed. Left-click puts blocks in place, and right-click removes them. Middle-clicks can also place blocks in a weird way. The camera is "smoothly" activated by moving the mouse, just like pressing F8 in Java Edition. This version is not able to be altered.

The camera acts differently to Minecraft's. The camera only moves when the player moves the cursor at a considerable distance away from the center of the game's viewport. Blocks from the world are selected by the player's cursor, rather than the center of the viewport.

The game does not have an option menu or HUD.

Graphics[]

Because the game renders at an extremely low resolution, the graphics appear as if they are pixelated. Even when running at a higher resolution the game doesn't scale the resolution correctly and the pixelated appearance is maintained. Classic 0.30 (Creative), which was the most recent version with block textures that are comparable to Classic.

Minecraft

At the moment. Blocks seem louder than they actually are.

Minecraft

While some blocks, especially stone are similar in appearance, they are quite different from their counterparts. The sky is black because of the absence of skyboxes.

The cursor's movement over an object will reveal its outline. This is in contrast to Minecraft's narrow gray outline of the block selection.

Blocks[]

The original game had only one non-air block.

In the second version blocks IDs are stored using four bits, giving 16 possible IDs. Most of them are filled in with slightly different-textured dirt.
