LEGO BrickHeadz Review
When the BrickHeadz theme was first introduced in 2016, it was expected to be a success as an exciting new method to build LEGO characters. The range includes characters from outside IPs like DC Comics, Marvel, Star Wars and Disney in LEGO form. Each set comes with an element of the base that can be used to make an even larger display. It's a basic idea, but it produces cute and funny outcomes. The minifigures have a miniature-like body, but have unique accessories that differentiate them. The figures are a bit more blocky, which fits better with the aesthetic of BrickHeadz.



Marcos Bessa, the designer of this cult theme, sat on The Lego Life recently to discuss the theme and his most loved builds, and also the future for BrickHeadz. We asked him about what was it that makes BrickHeadz so special and why it's such a massive success.


The LEGO BrickHeadz line is essentially focused on the adult who's a kid in the inner. Plenty of older kids still buy the new Batmobiles and Coast Guard Rescue Boats but it's more difficult to find the space to place them all on a desk or shelf or someplace. BrickHeadz is an excellent line for adults who want to experience the fun and excitement of building something with LEGO.


Each figure comes in four different hair color and three skin tones. This is a huge variety of options! The torso options are equally diverse, and although not all of them can be used for every character, there is enough flexibility here to allow users to create the perfect representation of their favourite characters.


BrickHeadz also comes with legs that are standard. While they can't allow you to perform some of the most creative poses you can do using the LEGO minifigure, they work perfectly. The range is distinguished by its head and torso options.


mycustombrickheadz was lucky enough be able to grab a copy of the Lord of the Rings set for review and it was not disappointing. There are four characters included in the set and are all stunning. Gandalf is a stunning rendition of the famous wizard. His robes are constructed from pieces that have been slopped and his hat has been perfectly captured in brick. The wings are also an excellent addition and using trans clear elements to add some color and flair is a fantastic idea.


The Balrog On the other hand it was a bit more challenging. The BrickHeadz aesthetic is perfect for simple shapes that are more squishy and designs that are compatible with the Khazad-Dum dwarven structure however, it was not so great when it came to trying to capture that elegant and intricate design of elven architecture. The final product, however, is very similar to the original Gandalf design and I'm sure the fans will adore it just as well as Gandalf.
