The Luca Budget

Pixar’s newest film, Luca, is set in the Italian Riviera. It follows a sea monster disguised as a human as he runs away from home to explore the surface world with his friend Alberto.

Alberto shows Luca his Vespa, an Italian scooter that can take you anywhere. They spend the next couple of days collecting junk and building a scrap scooter, experimenting with riding it down the island’s hill.

Eventually, Luca becomes fascinated with riding his Vespa and decides that he needs to go back to the surface. He convinces Alberto to take him back to the surface and try riding a real Vespa.

Giulia, the local girl, is very friendly to them and helps them get reunited with their families. She even lets them stay at her home in Portorosso, where she helps them with school and teaches them how to survive on the surface. It’s a heartwarming story about friendship and the power of family.
