-> TrackMan Baseball
- Organized and analyzed a wide array of pitching data points. The training in TrackMan's data analysis included understanding all kinds of pitches and each pitch's break/spin characteristics. Used this knowledge in other capacities of regression analysis to understand potential forecasting possibilities for MLB pitchers.
- Provided customer service for MLB teams to ensure their TrackMan systems are properly working for consistent data collection
-> AriBall
- Under the tutelage of Fred Claire and Ari Kaplan, I have learned to apply my knowledge of statistics, regression analysis, and business-acumen decision making into well-written articles for the AriBall website.
- In order to gain popularity within the industry, I have studied the patterns of writing in topical baseball writing industry. Have implemented proper grammatical process and flow into my writing through the study of various great authors and the book, The Elements of Style.
- My article on James Shields' free agency contract was recognized by Jayson Stark on Twitter. While, my article on creating a new pitching performance metric called Earned Runs Prevented Average was recognized by MLB Trade Rumors.
-> Achievements at Fordham University
- Competed at the Diamond Dollars Case Competition in 2014, 2015
- In our 2015 competition, we were able to implement our ERPA (Earned Runs Prevented Average) as a measure of pitching performance. Also, we were able to create a forecast based on previous years of ERPA and see whether that player could perform towards that forecast based on another created measure of consistency (Shirk Deviation)
- Competed at March Data Crunch Madness Competition 2015: Sponsored by Deloitte
- Received 3rd place as an undergraduate team against a long list of Fordham graduate school teams
- Used various highly technical regression analysis concepts to create a probability model that could predict the correct outcome of NCAA Tournament matchups 25% of the time.
-> Experiences from Fordham
- Studied Statistics I, Statistics II, Econometrics, and Applied Econometrics
- Have a great grasp of most statistical content. I learned R, SPSS, and Stata during my time at Fordham and have continuously used these programs in my work with TrackMan Baseball and AriBall.
- Obtained an A- in Applied Econometrics, which is assigned as a class to graduate students. During my senior year, I took this class as an undergraduate student.
