UIW wide receiver Taylor Grimes talks about his journey with puzzles
Taylor Grimes spends time with his wife and daughter when he is not playing football or doing Jigsaw puzzles. He attributes them to helping him deal with certain of the problems which he encountered during his college football career.


The first year of his freshman year, the All-Johnson County performer at Godley High School and All-State and All-District honoree from Illinois State University struggled to get recruited. He was forced to miss a large part of the 2021 football season due to an injury. Despite this, Grimes was able to establish himself as one of the best players in FCS. Grimes is working on rewriting his UIW record book in his second year with the Cardinals and has been awarded numerous awards, including being included listed on the Walter Payton Award watch list.


The player has also been selected as an HERO Sports FCS All-American. He's a candidate to take home a conference title this weekend, if he assists his team beat Northwestern State University. He is listed on the Reese's Senior Bowl watch list, giving the chance to show his abilities to NFL evaluators.


"He's an example guy," said UIW associate head coach and wide receivers coach Clint Killough. "He's the kid who, every day, the day out, goes to work on any kind of bad day or game or whatever."


Grimes's love for puzzles is a deep one. He has enjoyed them since he was a kid. It takes him a long time to complete a 1,000-piece puzzle. It is a scene from the movie It's A Wonderful Life and includes the father on screen Cary Grant receiving a visit from an angel.




The picture inspires him to look back on his journey and the many blessings the man has received. It's also a theme he hopes to pass along to his teammates and family members.

The electronic musician is back with new music and merchandise three years following Art Angels. The albums include a variety of wearable artwork that is silkscreened on vintage T-shirts. Official Grimes Merch Store go to Carbon180 which is a non-profit organization that Grimes established in the year 2000.


The shirts are decorated with a variety of designs, ranging including the name of the woman in Russian to freaky cartoons and fairytales. They are available in black, white and pink.


The shirts are manufactured from organic cotton that is a more green alternative to traditional synthetic cotton. They also have the methyl ethyl ketone, which aids in the production of air pollutants. It is toxic if inhaled in huge quantities for prolonged periods of time.
