Transport: Process by which substances enter and leave cells, and become distributed within cells.
Respiration: Process of releasing chemical energy.
Excretion: Elimination of waste of chemical reactions in the cell.
Synthesis: To combine single substances chemically to form more complex substances.
Regulation: Process of maintaining a balanced condition within the body. Equilibrium is the state of balance.
Growth: Process by which organisms increase in size by increasing in the number of cells that make them up. Growth occurs by the process called mitosis, division of one cell to make two cells.
Reproduction: Process by which living thing produce new organisms of their own species.
