Since the release of the first-generation PX7 in 2015, Bowers & Wilkins' flagship headphones have often been included on top wireless headset lists, putting them firmly in the same class as the likes Sony WH-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort. Its newest model, the PX7 S2, is an upgrade that takes the initial headphones to a new level, with improved ANC performance and a new design.

The 40mm bio-cellulose drivers in the earcups are placed in a way they are aimed directly at your eardrums. This provides a more intimate audio experience than other headphones with a closed back. It's a bold statement however, one that the PX7 S2 can deliver on. Vocals are clear and clear and bass is deep and rumbly when it's needed to be.

The PX7 S2 also performs very well with voice calls, and has a clear and crisp sound that doesn't drown out your own voice. The PX7 S2 also offers an extremely fast charge that can bring you back fully charged in just two hours. They also work with hi-res music, thanks to the aptX adaptive Bluetooth codesc, which allows the playback of 24-bit audio.

For most listeners the most significant upgrade is the enhanced noise-canceling and audio quality. In our tests, we were able to remove nearly all airplane noises simulated by the PX7 S2. They also performed exceptionally well in Mozart's Et In Carnatus Est and Sanctus, which demonstrate an excellent understanding of the changing dynamics between the solo vocalist, the wind trio and orchestral accompaniment.

3. Focal Bathys Wireless

For audiophiles who prize high-fidelity and are searching for a top-quality wireless noise cancelling headset, the Focal Bathys are hard to beat. The Focal Bathys are the very first ANC headphones made by a French audio company that utilizes Bluetooth. They deliver amazing sound quality both in Bluetooth mode and when connected via USB to a device that supports true hi-fi audio with up to 24bit/192kHz.

The Bathys are stunning with their glossy finishes and swooping curvatures that reminiscent Focal's closed-back Celestee and open-back Elear headphones. They also have premium materials like aluminum and magnesium for solid construction that is comfortable, solid and worth the cost.


In Bluetooth mode when Bluetooth is enabled, the Bathys deliver a crisp and vibrant sound that easily beats similar priced consumer ANC options such as the Bose QC45. Direct DAC audio mode allows them to be pushed further and makes them an excellent option for true hifi listeners.

The Focal &Naim app lets users to alter the playback controls of the headphone and Bluetooth pairing preferences. Users can choose between silent or soft intensities for ANC as well as alter the brightness of LEDs on the headphone's ear cups, and tweak EQ settings. The app is fairly bare-bones but offers enough functionality to make it worthwhile.

Their matte finish and robust construction give them a touch of premium quality.

They are similar to Sony's 1000X and XB910N headphone models. They sport a slim, plastic headband with the usual hinges on the earcups. They're light and comfortable to wear, however they feel a little too compressed for my liking. They have a USB-C charging port, 3.5mm jack and a decent-length cable inside the box. They support multipoint Bluetooth which means you can connect two devices at the same time if you want.

In beats studio3 wireless over ear headphones , the CH720N's hybrid noise-cancelling tech did great job of reducing background noise, with just few notable blips while walking through Waterloo station and London Victoria. They weren't magic sound-silencers that blocked out every sound however, they struggled with lower-frequency noises like the rumbling engine noise of buses and trains.

Streaming music through the CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth, and it exhibited a low level of harmonic distortion. I tried a variety of genres and discovered they were able to handle the intricate interplay between instruments quite well. It did an excellent job of taming the bass in rock tracks while keeping the focus of the mix.

The Sony Headphones Connect App allows you to customize the CH720N's multipoint connectivity as well as ANC settings according to your preferences. You can also add a variety of audio presets.
