Pengucapan mantra Wingardium Leviosa adalah win-GAR-dee-um lev-ee-OH-sa. Pada kata-kata GAR, gunakan nada yang enak dan diperpanjang sedikit. Pengucapan dan pelafalan setiap huruf harus jelas. Cara mengayunkan tongkat yang baik agar menghasilkan mantra yang berfungsi dengan baik dan benar yaitu dengan mengarahkan tongkat ke benda yang akan diterbangkan. Tongkat sihir atau wand bukannya diacungkan, tetapi diayunkan dan disentakkan. Gerakannya seperti seorang kondektur di orkestra yang sedang mengatur irama para pemusiknya. Ayun dan sentakkan tongkat dengan pergelangan tangan saja. Tidak perlu dengan tenaga yang berlebihan dan juga tidak perlu menggerakkan seluruh lengan, cukup pergelangan tangan.
