Baazov founded Amaya's company in the early 2000s. Baazov has guided Amaya through organic growth strategic acquisitions and a mix of both. Amaya's purchase of Oldford Group was completed in August 2014. The Oldford Group includes online poker and tournaments along with live poker tournaments and other occasions. There are also live poker rooms as well as major casino casinos that offer poker. The B2C division runs PokerStars and Full Tilt which, together they hold the largest share of market's liquidity on the poker online market. The company is the biggest poker event producer around the globe. Its brands comprise those of the European Poker Tour (EPT), PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCAS), Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) as well as the Asia Pacific Poker Tour.
David Baazov Amaya was initially listed in the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) in July 2010 and then graduated onto the TSX Exchange in October 2013. David Baazov S&P/TSX Index added the company into its index in September of 2014. At the time of its October 31st in 2014, the firm was the second-largest TSX listed company for technology in Quebec in terms of market capitalization.

In 2013 the year of his birth, Mr. Baazov won the Cantech Letter TSX Tech Company's CEO of the year award and Amaya received Amaya the TSX Tech stock of the year. In 2012 in 2012, Baazov was named CEO of the Year. Baazov was named Cantech Letter's TSX Venture Tech Company CEO of the Year and Amaya was selected as TSX Tech Stock of the Year for Amaya.
