Synopsis de l'intrigue : L'Empire galactique est défait il y a trente ans. La galaxie est maintenant face à une nouvelle menace : une nouvelle faction nommée la première ordonnance. Leur mission principale est de règle de la galaxie et de détruire tous ceux qui s'opposent à eux. Leur commandant est un impitoyable, mystérieux, puissant Sith, Kylo Ren. Kylo a l'ambition de trouver et de tuer les dernier Jedi qui est en mesure de rétablir l'ordre et de rétablir les moyens de Jedi, Luke Skywalker. Lieu inconnu de Luke est également une préoccupation majeure pour le général Leia Organa, un général de la résistance que, maintenant, essayer de la trouver lui aussi. Han Solo et Chewbacca rencontrent quelques nouveaux compagnons : Finn, un Stormtrooper défectueux d'ordre premier et Rey, un charognard de la planète Jakku ayant acquis l'emplacement de Luke à travers un droïde de roulement BB-8.
