Baazov began Amaya's business in the mid 2000s. Baazov has guided Amaya by organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and a mixture of both. Amaya purchased the Oldford Group in August 2014 and turned it into the largest online poker company. The acquisition included online poker tournaments, games and live poker events. It also includes live poker rooms at top casinos, as well as TV poker programming. The B2C division operates PokerStars & Full Tilt which, together they hold the largest share of market's liquidity on the poker online market. It is the largest producer of live poker events around the globe. Amaya was first listed by the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) in July of 2010, after which it was moved into the TSX Exchange in October of 2013. The S&P/TSX Index included the company to the index at the beginning of September 2014. By October 31st in 2014, the company was the second largest TSX listed tech firm within Quebec.
Amaya was honored by the business and industry community for its success. Mr. Baazov received numerous awards like Ernst & Young Quebec EY Entrepreneur of The Year 2013, in the field of Information Technology and inclusion on Gaming Intelligence Hot 50 in 2012. The list honors the brightest, most creative and ingenuous people that work on the internet gaming. Notably, in 2013 the year of his birth, Mr. David Baazov Baazov was named Cantech Letter's TSX Tech Company CEO of the Year and Amaya was deemed TSX Tech Stock of the Year.
