Welcome to the course, Microsoft Azure Developer: Implement API Management, and this first module, Introduction to Azure API Management. My name is Daniel, and I have pleasure to guide you through this course. Before we start, let me briefly introduce myself. I work as a software engineer at Predica, one of the companies located in Warsaw, Poland. I was also awarded with Microsoft's Most Valuable Professional title. I'm passionate about Azure cloud, and in this course I have the pleasure to introduce you to the API Management service. Great, so let's start. Let's see what we are going to talk about in this course. First, we will learn how to architect API integration in the Azure cloud. We are going to discuss why it's important to use API Management in some scenarios when building cloud solutions. Then, we will understand the components that are part of the Azure API Management service in the Azure cloud. Of course, we will do some demos, including creating an Azure API Management instance in the Azure portal, and then we will discover how to protect your APIs from unauthorized access. Of course, we will see how to implement policies like throttling or caching, and at the end, we will summarize the whole course. In this module specifically, we will discuss Azure API Management components, and we will see how to create a new instance of Azure API Management in the Azure portal. Then, we will integrate an existing API application with API Management, and we will learn how to set up access for developers. There is a lot of content to learn in front of us, so let's start.
