TASP revitalized my desire to learn anything and everything, hyped my sensitivity to problematic social, political binaries, and deconstructed the intellectual block that had started to form in my mind. I guess you could say that the program threw me into a pool of giants. It was six weeks of contemplation and art analysis, discussions on cultural appropriations, and philosophical debates consisting of 2000-word-per-day messages on Facebook on the significance of logic. Prior to the program, I had not had academic experiences in which I was encouraged to make connections and theories between seemingly unrelated topics, but at TASP I was invited to pursue new avenues of thought

More importantly, each person effected me so very deeply and altered, if even just a smidge, how I perceived the world around me, how I perceived myself, and how I even just perceived. It wasn’t necessarily a 360 life changer, but it was more of an opening up, an awakening, that as a result changed me and allowed me to fully realize my entire self moreso and better. I

a really wide and diverse array of interests and basically whenever we’re all in the house you can walk around to any room and have an interesting/funny/stimulating conversation

I hope that in the future you choose the ideals of freedom, inquiry and democratic community that you so proudly sing from the rooftops over an easy avoidance of reponsibility and accountability. True democracy entails minority rights as much as it requires majority rule.
