Notes

My name is Anthon George Carter, I'm 25 years old and I'm the father of a beautiful boy named Mason and a beautiful little girl named Charlotte. When their mother left, Mason had 3 years and Charlotte had 8 months. We still don't know exactly why, but we suspect post-partum depression played a part. When Mason born I was so nervous and scared about being a father, I was only 17 yeard old. But I was a single father with two little kids and had to fulfill two roles. I wasn't sure I could do it. I started to read every parent book I could find, I was so scared because I could end up messed up two humans.
I was 20, all my friends were in college and going to parties and I was at home with my two kids, but I sure that I wouldn't change it. No party could make me as happy as do my two babies.
Those days have been rough and at times I wasn't sure I could make it another day. I spent more then a few nights holding my little girl as she slept, watching my boy sleeping peaceful meanwhile I was weeping because I wasn't sure I was going to be a good enough father for them.
My best memories are with them, like the first time they said "daddy" or "I love you" to me. But there's two moments in particular: the first one was when Mason had 4 and Lola was trying to walk. She fall and he just ran to her and helped her, I said "you're a good big brother Mase" and he said "I'll always going to help her dad". That day I understoond that even if I'm not here for them, they will always be there for each other. And the second one was when Lola had 1 and she came to me and laid her tiny little hand on my cheek and stared into my eyes. I took it as "Come on daddy, we have a lot to do". So I told her no more crying and we were going to fight to be happy. We’ve kept true to that promise.
A year ago, I met Greta, she's the most amazing woman in the world. She not only love me, she loves my kids and they're love her. She truly helped us through a very difficult time.
Now Greta and I are expecting a baby boy, we're going to name him Nathan. Mason and Lola are the happiest, they talk with everyone their know about how they're going to play with their little brother and Lola is actually planning to tell him that playing with dolls can be for boys too.
We've come a long way, but we're all so happy now and continue to grow together everyday.

For any single parents out there, if you ever feel like the load is to much or you're just not good enough. Look into your amazing children's eyes and just tell them you love them. You'd be amazed to see how much strength you have when someone else is counting on you and loving you more and more for what you're doing. You'll find strength where you thought you had none.
