Is LSD Addictive?
LSD or Lysergic acid diethylamide is a semi-synthetic psychedelic drug first synthesized in 1938 by Sandoz pharmacist Albert Hofmann while looking for a lysergic acid derivative. It is a serotonin analogue that interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain to cause hallucinations and other psychological effects. It is often used for spiritual or recreational purposes and was popular in the 1960s, leading to what has been called the “psychedelic movement.” It is no longer as prevalent as it once was.

Unlike most other drugs, which are absorbed by the bloodstream and distributed throughout the body, LSD is absorbed directly into the brain from the gut, where it is quickly metabolized to a variety of active metabolites. The onset of the most intense effects (known as a “trip”) occurs between 20 and 90 minutes after ingestion, and can last up to 24 hours. Common side-effects include loss of appetite, dry mouth and dilated pupils. In lsd store , some people can experience higher than normal heart rate and blood pressure, which can be dangerous for those with preexisting cardiovascular disease or heart failure.

The experience of taking LSD can vary widely, but it is typically safe at low doses and for those who take the drug in a controlled environment with friends. A good trip can be very meaningful and enjoyable, but a bad trip can result in anxiety, fear, paranoia or panic. People may also feel numb, have a loss of coordination and/or speech, experience distorted vision or hearing, lose their sense of time or become very depressed. In severe cases, large doses can cause seizures, coma or death. It is important to know the warning signs of a bad trip so that you can seek medical attention.

People who use hallucinogens may have flashbacks long after they have stopped using the drug. These are similar to post-traumatic stress disorder and can be very frightening. It is also possible for people to develop a psychiatric condition that closely resembles schizophrenia, particularly in heavy users or those with underlying mental health issues.

Is lsd addictive?
LSD is not physically addictive, but it can be psychologically addictive. It is also extremely difficult to stop abusing hallucinogens because they are so effective at causing altered states of consciousness. Some users develop a tolerance to LSD very quickly and must increase their dosage in order to experience the same high they once did.

It is illegal to possess, sell or manufacture LSD in Canada, and possession can carry a substantial jail sentence. It is also a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act and is not approved for medical use.

It is also important to note that because it is illegal, nobody really knows what is in the drug they are purchasing, so it is very possible that the product they are buying contains other ingredients that can be more dangerous than LSD itself. It is therefore very important to only purchase from trusted sources.
