Crazy Pineapple allows each player to be dealt three pocket cards. A second round of betting follows. The dealer flips three community cards (the "flop") and the second round of betting begins. All players are required at this point to discard one pocket card. The turn card will be flipped, then there will be a round of gambling. The river card is then flipped, and a fourth round betting takes place. Players have two options: they can use all of their remaining pocket cards and three of their community cards to make the best five-card poker hand. Or, they can choose to use only one of their four community cards and one of their pocket cards. Players have the option to play five community cards as part of their hand. This poker variation also includes a strategic element: one of your pocket card can be discarded.

After betting has stopped the three community cards are then dealt out for everyone to see, in poker terminology this is called the flop. The players can now adjust to this situation and a new round starts. If no one places any bet, players have the choice to check, fold and bet. If a bet is already placed, players have the option to call, raise and fold.
