Blocks — Blocks make up scripts, which make a project work
Boolean Block — A conditional block that reports a statement to be true or false
Broadcast — A message that is sent through the Scratch program, activating When I Receive () blocks
Control Block — A block that either starts a script or keeps a script running See Also: Trigger Block
Direction — Where a sprite is pointing
Duplicate — to copy and create another
Execute — A term referring to a script or block being run (i.e. to run or "execute" a script)
Forever — A function in Scratch that repeats a set of code forever, done by the Forever block
Green Flag — Sometimes simply called the 'flag,' this is what starts most projects' scripts running
Hide — A feature in Scratch which completely hides a sprite from the screen
Looks Block — A block which controls how a sprite or the stage looks
Motion Block — A block which controls a sprite's movement
Operator Block — A block that performs math functions and string handling
Paint Editor — Scratch's built-in image editor
Pen Block — A block which controls the pen
Sensing Block — A block that detects something, from a sound from a microphone to whether a sprite is touching a certain color
Sound Block — A block which controls either a MIDI Instrument or sound
Sprite — An object in Scratch which performs functions controlled by scripts
Stage — The background of a project, performs functions through scripting
Variable — A placeholder that holds a value that can be changed
Variable Block — A block that controls a variable
X Position — The position that a sprite or the mouse is at along the horizontal axis
Y Position — The position that a sprite or the mouse is at along the vertical axis



Google Sheets Vocabulary

Row
A row is a group of cells that run horizontally from side-to-side.
Cell
Each rectangle in a spreadsheet is called a cell.
A cell is the intersection of a row and a column.
Column
A column is a group of cells that run vertically from top to bottom. Columns are identified by letters.
Sheet
A small tab at the bottom of a worksheet that allows you to move from one worksheet to another within the same workbook.
Formula Bar
You can use the formula bar to enter and edit data, functions and formulas for a specific cell.
Cell Range
Is a group or block of cell in a worksheet that have been selected or highlighted.
Wrap Text
Wrapping the text will automatically modify a cell's row height, allowing the cell contents to be displayed on multiple lines.
Merge Cells
Merging allows you to combine a cell with adjacent, empty cells to create one large cell.
Formula
An equation that calculates a new value from values currently in a worksheet.
Function
A function is a predefined formula that performs calculations using specific values in a particular order
Sum
The SUM function adds all the values of the selected cells in the argument. This function is useful for quickly adding values in a range of cells.
Average
The AVERAGE function will find the average of the values included in the argument. It calculates the sum of the cells and then divides the sum by the number of cells in the argument.
Max
The MAX function displays the highest cell value included in the argument.
Min
The MIN function displays the lowest cell value included in the argument.
Sort
Sorting allows you to change or customize the order of your spreadsheet data.










Photoshop Vocabulary

The marquee tools
make rectangular, elliptical, single row, and single column selections

The lasso tools
make freehand, polygonal (straight-edged), and magnetic (snap-to) selections.

The Magic Wand tool
selects similarly colored areas.

The Eraser tool
erases pixels and restores parts of an image to a previously saved state.

The Blur tool
blurs hard edges in an image.

The Dodge tool
lightens areas in an image.

The Burn tool
darkens areas in an image.

The Brush tool
paints brush strokes.
Active Layer
The layer currently selected in the Layers Palette
Background Layer
The bottom most layer in an image
Canvas
The workspace around the image
Pixel
The basic unit of image data
Selection
Selects a part of an image so you can copy or customize it
Transform
To scale, shrink, or enlarge an object
JPEG
A graphic file used for compressing a picture for use in other projects or the web.
PSD
File format for Photoshop that retains the layers for further editing
layers
The practice of placing text and image on top of each other in a design.
fill
A pattern, color or tint applied to the inside of a closed object.
