1. Gases don't have definite volume and they occupy all the space available. the volume of the gas is the volume of the container.

6. Gases can be compressed by applying pressure because there are large spaces between molecules of gases.
7. Gases can be expanded by heating or increasing the volume of the gas. Solids and liquids do not show an appreciable increase in volume on heating.
8. Due to sudden expansion of gases, they cool and this effect is called Joule Thomson Effect.
9. The intermolecular forces of gases are very weak.
