As the researchers conducted a literature review to gather information about the problem, various gaps were observed from other studies dealing with parental pressure and academic achievement in international and national settings. One perceived gap is that most studies deal with generalized high school students. There are only two studies related to this research paper with a targeted audience of grade twelve students. With this gap, the researchers became motivated to choose grade twelve students as their targeted year level not only to contribute to the few studies concerning this research paper that involves year twelve students but because these students are desirable respondents and audience for this study, especially that according to Better Health Channel, authorized by the Department of Health of State of Victoria in Australia last 2020, grade twelve students are the students that are commonly pressured in academics because they are to move forward in their college life. Moreover, another gap discerned is the lack of study that tackles parental pressure and academic achievement in the researcher's town, which is Orion, Bataan. Because of this gap, the researchers came up with this study not only to contribute to the research field in Orion Bataan but as well as make the readers know what parental pressure and academic achievement are for the students in Orion Bataan, specifically at Jose Rizal Institute Orion Bataan, and especially what do they feel about it. Lastly, most studies about parental pressure and academic achievement focus only on the impacts of parental pressure on various students' learning environments and not the students' perspectives regarding the said issue being studied. With that, the researchers have brought up a study about multiple students' views and perceptions about the effects and relation of parental pressure on their academic achievement to provide unique information for further researchers who will study a problem concerning parental pressure and academic performance.

With all the stated gaps above, the researchers then conducted different goals, which the researchers' study will revolve around. Included in these goals are to contribute to the previous studies on this research's topic of parental pressure and academic achievement and help other further researchers who will conduct related research on the said topic in the future. However, there are two main goals of the researchers for this study. One is to interpret the views of grade twelve students at Jose Rizal Institute Orion Bataan regarding the relationship between parental pressure and academic achievement. The other main goal of the researchers is to work out the poor knowledge of people about parental pressure especially in Orion, Bataan ; that is why the researchers aim to provide information for the readers not only to know about what parental pressure is and how it affects the academic performance of the student but also the research paper tackles what students feel about being pressured to gain academic excellence.
