The Difference Between an English Lab and an American Lab
The Labrador is an extremely popular breed in America. This breed is thought to be originated from Canada. They are very loyal, energetic and fun dogs. They are real an easy task to train too. But because yellow lab puppies got popular, many questions begun to arise. One of them is this: "What is the difference between an English Labrador and an American Labrador?"
Normally, this is asked by individuals who are looking to buy a Labrador puppy and desire to make an informed decision. If english lab puppies were to help you on which one to get, I would have to say the English lab. This so called variety of the breed is in fact supposed to be the real thing. Because of this this breed has kept the original aspect of your dog and is susceptible to a far more healthy and active life. I say it's supposed to be this way because not many breeders actually do keep this breed pure. They like to mix it up to make them taller or give different hair colors. While they mean well, they find yourself increasing the dog's risks of getting sick. Now I'm just saying what usually happens and you should not accuse anybody of the due to me. All I'm trying to do is explain some differences.
Here are some things that will let you see on your own whether you dog can be an English lab or an American Lab.
The English Labrador will weigh less although it's shorter and broader; or as some may prefer to call it - thick and stocky. It has shorter legs and a wide block head. The tail is meant to be short and broad.
The American Labrador is really a custom breed really. It's taller also it weighs a lot more than the English lab. Its body is thinner; it has longer legs and a thinner head. Its tail will undoubtedly be thin and long.
Some people say there are several personality differences as well, but that's not true in my opinion. Every dog has its own personality and you also can't tell how it will turn out.
So now check out your puppy and you can determine which type of lab it really is. Whatever conclusion you come to just promise me you'll love him/her just as much as you did before.
