1.An Archipelago is a landform that consists of a group or chains of islands. The islands of an Archipelago are scattered in a body of water, such as an ocean, lake, or river. Some archipelagos are formed by volcanic eruptions and are called island arcs.
2.A bay is a well-marked indentation in the coastline, whose penetration is in such proportion to the width of its mouth as to contain land-locked waters.
3.A gulf is a large bay that is an arm of an ocean or sea. It is a body of water enclosed by land that deeply penetrates the land and has a narrow opening. Gulfs vary in size, shape, and depth and often make good harbors.
4.Body of land surrounded by water
An island is a body of land surrounded by water. Islands can be found in all bodies of water, from streams and rivers to lakes, seas, and oceans. The two main types of islands are oceanic islands and continental islands. Oceanic islands are the tops of underwater volcanoes. Continents are also surrounded by water, but because they are so big, they are not considered islands. Australia, the smallest continent, is more than three times the size of Greenland, the largest island.
5.A lake is a body of water that is surrounded by land. A lake is formed when water accumulates in a low spot, such as a basin created by glacial or volcanic action, or a dammed or isolated section of a river. A lake usually has a slower-moving flow than the stream (s) that feed or drain it. Lakes can vary greatly in size and can be found on every continent and in every kind of environment.
6.A peninsula is a piece of land that is almost entirely surrounded by water but is connected to the mainland on one side. Peninsulas can be very small, sometimes only large enough for a single lighthouse, for instance. Lighthouses often sit on peninsulas near rocky coastlines to warn sailors that they are getting close to land.
