Today was exhausting! Being a pharaoh is so hard sometimes. Everyone expects you to ALWAYS have the answer at all times. Not to mention, I NEVER have a moment to myself! Can you believe that I can't even put my own clothes on? I have to have a "Preparer of the Wardrobe" to dress me. RIDICULOUS! As soon as I get dressed, I have to go to the formal audience chamber, where everyone expects me to solve everyone else's problems. When I finish meeting in the audience chamber, where they all treat me like a god and bow down before(I have to admit, that is nice sometimes!), then I have even MORE to do! Have you ever gotten lost in your own house? Sometimes I don't even know where I'm supposed to go!
In the afternoon, I have to go to the temple and perform the 2nd part of my day - I'm the high priest for EVERY god in ancient Egypt! I have to wear even more gold jewelry for my ceremonial priesthood stuff than I do in the mornings. Hmm - sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I was just a simple farmer. No worries about keeping the enemies away from our borders, making sure that all of my subjects are safe, keeping the gods happy. All I would have to worry about is planting and harvesting my crops and taking care of my family. Sigh. If only...
