Badlion is a hugely popular Minecraft launcher that bundles many things together has now been officially ported over to Linux with the Badlion Client 3.1 update.
What's the purpose of it? Well it offers up select extra features in the standard version, such as enhancements like Optifine and their own "Betterframes" tool, anti-cheat (not in the Linux version) as well as various tweaks for FPS enhancements and a variety of mods are available, including Minimap, ArmorStatus, PotionStatus, Crosshair, CPS (clicks per second) and many more. It is used by a lot of people, therefore it is a good idea to have official Linux options.
Here's how it looks On Linux. First , the launcher itself, second is the in-game picture with their own menu system.
In relation to the Linux release They stated:
We are extremely excited to share today with the entire Minecraft community that the Badlion Client is now available on Linux! In the last few months, our development team has been working tirelessly to complete the final pieces of Linux support. This includes fixing the compatibility issues we talked about in our announcement post about Linux last year. The development team was able finish the Linux support just in time for BLC 3.0.
We would like to thank the Linux community and their patience during the past few months. We understand that we weren't capable of releasing the Linux version until the end of 2020, as we had hoped, but we hope you're excited nonetheless to test the most feature packed Minecraft version that is free to download!
It is available here. It's provided as an AppImage and should be compatible with the majority of Linux distributions.
