The Amazon Kindle originated to give their customers better access to a familiar product. Books! Initially Amazon's original intent was to provide wide access to books to all of their consumers. By creating a selection of Kindle tablets the company was able to deliver e-books to their customers and present them this access on the run at all times.
The initial Amazon Kindle originated as strictly a reading device in 2007. It was quite basic allowing for the reading of books and downloading of new books from the Amazon store. It didn't have color and a wide variety of applications but instead promoted the basic concept of being able to read anywhere and hold a large library in a small device. This content for the Kindle originates from Amazon's large library of electronic content. Users can easily buy reading materials and have them wirelessly downloaded with their device instantly.
As the years went on Amazon created a number of Kindle devices, each of which interest different users. Some desire to simply read books while others enjoy accessing news and current events, magazines, email and the web.
The Kindle by Amazon competes against the Nook by Barnes & Noble and the iPad by Apple. Both Nook and Kindle started out as reading devices but as increasing numbers of people are embracing tablets and other hand-held computers, reading devices have become a thing of days gone by as do-it-all tablets take over.
The Kindle Fire, the latest of the Amazon Kindle options, has color, access to the web, apps, games, news and magazines and much more. Not all readers enjoy this advance. Many original users of the Kindle just like the fact that this can be a device strictly for reading. As Additional info who owned a genuine Kindle put it, "I acquired the Kindle to read, not for all the extras. I don't like all the new features on the newer ones. It's too distracting. I sit down to read and before very long I'm checking and answering email, reading up on news stories and doing everything but reading."
On the converse, many people enjoy the ability to carry their entire library on the go while also accessing the others of these life. With the most recent Amazon Kindle, the Fire, readers get access to everything that a laptop computer provides in addition to the ability to read.
