pale pink tongue darts out from between chapped lips, running along the blood-soaked hand, relishing in the taste of victory, the taste of death that infuses with the meat inside the deer lying open on the filthy terrain. hunched over her latest victim, wolf pelt draped over her shoulders held in place with various materials tied tightly together. sharp teeth tear into the raw meat, shredding it to pieces ravenously, hoping that perhaps this deer will cure her craving — but it never does. it's a hopeless wish, an incurable disease — a necessity to dig her keen claws into the screaming flesh, scraping the organs out, ignoring the whimpering, the pleading that spills like water from the mouths of her food.

she supposes, if she were human, she would feel remorse, perhaps guilt about her actions. perhaps she'd take time to consider the lives she's stolen out here in the isolated woods, but she doesn't. they violated her home, dirtied her sanctuary with their hunting. so she plays. she lures the humans in, deeper and deeper into the woods. the gentle glow of the sun peering through leaves, the small rabbits bundling around the bushes, the deer trotting in the near distance. an illusion of heaven, of safety.

when the air whips their necks, suddenly the blinding sun is boiling them alive, tugging at shirt collars, hoping the air will guide itself to relieve their sweating skin, but it never catches onto the hint. wolves howl behind them, twigs crack under the weight of strong paws and the girl with blonde hair is slowing, turning slowly, dark, navy eyes focused. lips part, only to reveal bloody, piercing teeth akin to a sharks. an angelic laugh tumbles from plump lips and powerful wings unfold from the dirty cloth she wears, looming over her thin frame. it's a game, she says as she moves closer,
