Minecraft Console Commands And Cheats

How do you enter Minecraft commands? Thankfully, Minecraft console commands are extremely easy to use; they're as easy as entering Minecraft seeds. When you're creating a brand new Minecraft world, you'll be asked to select whether or not you want to allow cheats. Any command you type into single player will need to be preceded by a forward slash. (/); multiplayer commands will not work with this prefix.

Target selector shortcuts @p - nearest player @r - random player All players @e - all entities @s - the entity executing the command Target selector variables set the target for a specific player without having to type out their full name. Below are the five possible shorthand commands. You'll be accustomed to seeing these when playing on the most reliable Minecraft servers.



Help/help [CommandName] Gives you additional information on the given command.



Give /give [Amount] Used to give another player an item from your inventory. Example: /give PCGamesN minecraft:planks 13. This would give PCGamesN 13 Spruce Wood Planks. This command is easier to use for single objects, however it can be useful for stackable objects.



Teleport /tp [TargetPlayer] Z Used to instantly transfer yourself or another player to a specific location within the world. The coordinates can be changed by the name of another player to transfer the target directly. You can also teleport to a different world by using these Minecraft maps.



Kill/kill kills your characters, and adds the name of another player to apply the command.



Weather/weather WeatherType allows you to select the weather or your world. Options include: snow, thunder, rain and snow.



Creative mode/gamemode creative changes to Creative mode. This allows players flight, unlimited resources, and stops mobs from attacking you.



Survival mode/gamemode survival Changes the gamemode to Survival mode, meaning that mobs will attack you and you'll need to collect all the resources the old-fashioned method.



Set the time/time setting 1000. Sets the time of day. For dawn, noon, and night replace "1000" by "0", "6000" or "12000" and "18000" for each.



Change difficulty to Peaceful/difficulty peaceful. Change difficulty to peaceful mode. Replace "peaceful" with "easy", " normal" or "hard" to make it more of an obstacle.

Keep inventory in case you die or game rule keepInventory true This ensures that you do not lose any of your objects upon your death. To revert this simply type "false" in place of "true"



Stop time/gamerule donDaylightCycle true This will cause the game's day/light cycles stop and let you enjoy the sun's constant moonlight. To resume the day/light cycle type in "/gamerule doDaylightCycle true".



Summon /summon Instantly releases the desired creature or object into your world. This is particularly useful for those who are low on Ocelots that can be tamed.



Atlantis mode/atlantis Dramatically increases the levels of the world's water submerging all but the highest mountains.



Ride/ride turns the creature you're facing into an animal.



Instant mine/instantmine Mining using any tool



Freeze/freeze Stops mobs from getting away.



Fall damage/fall damage is based on fall damage.



Fire damage/fire damage Turns on or off the fire damage



Water damage/waterdamage Turns water damages off and on



Superheat or Smelt. This transforms all objects into their melted form.



Instant plant/instantplant There is no need to wait around for a seed to grow.



Store items /dropstore Stores all inventory items in a chest, which spawns near.



Item damage /itemdamage Weapons do not sustain damage or become degraded.



Duplicate/duplicate copies and drop them on the stack of items you have prepared.
