More About my dissertation:
This dissertation studies the role and importance of the digital media, as well as the challenges and opportunities that comes with it. This thesis, where both qualitative and quantitative research methods are used, analyzes the previously published books and digital sources about the use of digital media in public diplomacy, as well as the digital diplomacy. ‘The Turkish soap operas on digital media’ were examined in detail, as a case study. At the same time, with the participation of over 700 people from 84 different countries, an online survey is carried out about ‘HOW TURKISH SOAP OPERAS ON DIGITAL CHANNELS IMPACT THE IMAGE OF TURKEY ABROAD' and results have been interpreted statistically. In addition, Google Analytics data for international traffic of Turkey's largest digital TV content (OTT) platform has been analyzed. At the end of the study, over 30 leading public diplomacy, digital diplomacy, place branding and digital media experts around the world contributed to the in-depth interviews, conducted for this study. This dissertation in the end wrote a conclusion and listed recommendations accordingly as well.
