He blinked. The plushie was still there.
He threw an object at it (a hand towel that was made to look like an elephant). It bounced harmlessly off the plushie, and it was now laying sideways on the bed.
Why him. This was the same exact plushie his uncle gave him when he was sick. Or, the one given during one of his many bouts of childhood illness. He thought he gave it to Key and she ripped it on a tree branch while throwing it in the air. Will he never be spared from the sordid, round thing?
He collapsed onto the bed. It wasn’t his fault whether or not this horrid thing decided to follow him throughout his entire life. In the morning he’ll probably feed it to the dove, and it’ll rip apart its stuffing to use as part of its nest. Yes, that sounded like a good plan.
For now, sleep.
