IER and MJFT Hotels of Flushing LLC reached a settlement on November 7 the 7th of November, 2018. The settlement was intended to settle a lawsuit alleging that IER discriminated against a worker who was authorized to work in the United States in its hiring process. The settlement requires MJFT to pay a civil penalty, train employees on the requirements of 8 U.S.C. Section 1324b. The company must submit three-year departmental monitoring and reports, and amend its policy on the exclusion of immigrants who are authorized to work.
