Ghost Merch
Ghost Ghost, a Swedish metal band, that combines elements of doom, hard rock metal, and progressive rock, with the influence of occult rock is famous for their distinctive visual identity. They wear the same face-concealing masks that they refer to as "Nameless Ghouls" with the leading vocalist performing under the moniker of Papa Emeritus, a Satanic pope character who has worn skull-themed face paint since the band was founded in 2006.


They are one of the most popular and best known bands in the metal music genre, today. They have been gaining recognition and fan appreciation for their wacky live performances. Their 2010 debut album Opus Eponymous was a hit among underground metal fans. They've been compared to Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and Pentagram.


When Ghost first debuted, a lot of people doubted whether Ghost could stand on their own as an underground doom band. As it turns out they have done just that thanks to their first album's popularity.



They've also built up a substantial fan base through a mix of both off-line and on-line marketing strategies. And they've done so in an entirely merchandising-conscious manner, creating products that are as eye-catching as the costumes, props, and special effects that they use onstage.


It's all a way to allow Ghost to fuel their own PR machine, which is an ineffective way to attract press attention and ad dollars. And while a little bit of theatrical shit can be enjoyable, it's not the sort of thing that can help them reach the kind of success they're entitled to as an independent band.


There's a good reason why bands such as Slipknot, Gwar, Alice Cooper and King Diamond don't do a much of a show that is theatrical. They center their shows around their music, and that's what their fans have come to expect. And while Ghost's clerical title changes are kind of cool, they don't contribute to the music in any meaningful way. They seem like an attempt to fuel their own egos.

As per reports, the group is in the process of putting together new material. They're anticipating the release of an album with a full-length title this year. They're currently touring to promote their new album, and will be speaking up in 2023.
