An Ezine is an Electronic Magazine that you may receive in your email inbox. This is the pure definition, although there is some debate as to what can be an Ezine and what is an online newsletter. Most think that an Ezine is really a Magazine in Electronic form and the ones who made up the term surely believed that, but today this definition is evolving plus some are arguing over what an Ezine really is?
In fact from the pure usage standpoint of those who gather their news and information and prefer this format, I would say that Ezine will not suffice and needs an upgrade of the definition. Additionally an online newsletter or update with multiple stories or information and graphics can be an Ezine, I beg to differ with anyone who denies that. In website if it's not, then you better go 70% of these out there that call themselves Ezines, because they're running away with the show and several have HUGE subscription bases in the 10s of thousands.
This is of Ezines is evolving and attempting to limit this is, perhaps will not serve the users or subscribers. Moreover Additional info of the Ezine reaches stake due to shear numbers of new entrants in to the market and the ways they try to differentiate themselves. This is an interesting subject and I wonder how many others have opinions or thoughts on alternative definitions on the market and how many definitions maybe introduced later on. Consider all of this in 2006.
