The company is required to pay a civil penalty , and educate its employees on how to comply with the U.S.C. Section 1324b, and to be subject to Department of Labor monitoring for 3 years.

On November 7 2018 IER entered into a settlement with MJFT Hotels of Flushing LLC which runs the Hyatt Place Flushing/Laguardia Airport hotel. The settlement was to settle a claim that it discriminated against an immigrant with a work authorization in its hiring process. The settlement stipulates that MJFT to pay a civil penalty, train relevant employees about the requirements of 8 U.S.C. Section 1324b. Railroad Cancer Settlement Amounts is required to submit three-year departmental monitoring and reporting, and amend its policy on the exclusion of workers with a work authorization to apply for immigration.

EEOC attorney Jim Kaster told CNBC that the agency is currently investigating Union Pacific's actions which violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Eric Doi, the plaintiff in this case was one of the members of a zonal group that traveled on an as-needed basis across various states to do work for railroads. He was injured when his truck was involved in a rollover accident with another Union Pacific truck driver.

Doi claimed that Union Pacific was negligent in many ways, including failing to supervise and train its employees properly. He also claimed that the railroad was unable to ensure proper safety practices and that it failed to follow recognized industry standards. The jury awarded the plaintiff $557 million in damages.

In addition to the $557 million awarded and the $557 million award, a portion of the damages will be used to fund his future medical treatment. The court will also issue an order that requires railroad officials to ensure that members of the zone gang are properly educated and have the safety equipment and procedures needed to operate their vehicles.

Hallman who was Torres's legal advisor sought the court's approval for the settlements in accordance with Code of Civil Procedure fn. 1 section 877.6 which states that courts must approve settlements that are made in good faith. Another settlement was made in an instance involving a patient who suffered kidney damage because doctors mistakenly diagnosed her condition. The doctor did not properly request an MRI or conduct blood tests. She was then operated on without knowing the cause which resulted in permanent kidney damage.

Another instance involved a man who sustained serious injuries when his knee was injured in an accident at work. Although he was able get a portion earnings back, the injury to his body and career was serious. In addition, he was required to undergo surgery to repair his knee.
