Window Treatments for Sliding Doors
Adding a sliding door to an area allows for quick access to the outdoors while also bathing the area in a lot of light. Those virtues may also prove challenging when attempting to put in a sense of privacy and style to a sliding glass door unit.

Specialty treatments for sliders include shades/blinds that are part of the door unit. They are typically encased between the two panes of door glass. They might be raised or lowered with a special switch. One advantage: Because they're sandwiched within the entranceway, these treatments never need cleaning and so are usually very damage-resistant. One drawback: As styles change, you may wish to replace these treatments, that could necessitate replacing the complete door.
