Minecraft's annual event started out as an event, but then shifted to streaming-only events in 2017 as a way to maintain the tight-knit atmosphere to draw a larger audience. It's returning to the in-person experience, however, and it now has details to share. The newly rebranded Minecraft Festival is now slated to be held in Orlando's Orange County Convention Center between September 25th and September 27th, with tickets on sale beginning March 6th at 12PM Eastern. Mojang and Microsoft will be hosting a variety of events in addition to hearing the latest Minecraft news. Tickets are available beginning on March 6th, at 12PM Eastern.
Tickets start at $65 per day, and $165 per day for three days. All attendees will receive an in-game Minecraft Festival cap, which is compatible with Java and Bedrock. As with many conventions there are incentives to pay extra. A $225 Gold package grants you early access to exhibits, panels and the shop, while people who purchase the $300 Diamond package also have access to a lounge, a personal bag and coat check as well as an exclusive pin and lanyard.
This is great news for fans who missed the chance to meet the creators and other fans. Microsoft is taking a risk with the coronavirus outbreak that is currently in full swing. While September is only seven months away as we write this, it's not guaranteed that the outbreak will be under control by then.
