Common Materials Used for Springs
1. Music Wire��

Piano wire is cold attracted after lead and hardening. It has very high strength limits and elasticity limits. It is widely used as a material for small springs. The quality of the steel wire and the required properties are very strict. In addition to the tensile test, tests such as torsion, corrosion and sharp carbon are also required. For this reason, it can be divided into various important springs, various highly stressed mechanical springs and piano wire for spring manufacture.

2. Carbon Steel��

High-carbon steel wire has high strength and hardness, high elastic limit and fatigue limit (notched fatigue limit), good cutting properties, but poor welding properties and cold plastic deformation capacity after appropriate heat treatment or cold removal hardening.

3. Stainless Steel��

Stainless steel wire is available in soft and hard wire, with hard wire commonly used for springs.

Stainless steel wire drawing is a metal plastic process in which a disc or billet is pulled out of a drawer die hole by tension to produce a small cross-section of metal wire or non-ferrous wire. Wires of different cross-sectional shapes and sizes of various metals and alloys can be used for drawing. The drawers are easy to make, the dies are easy to draw, the surfaces are clean and the wire is easy to draw.

4. Copper alloy ballistic materials��

Good electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, but with a small heat resistance factor and little heat resistance;

5. Electroplated steel wire��

The materials used are SWC, SWP, SUS zinc-plated, tin-plated, nickel-plated and gold-plated wire.

Advantages: high elasticity, fatigue resistance and the possibility of tinning, which solves the problem of some springs being tinned and not easily plated.

Disadvantages: the cut-out will rust (due to the carbon content) and the spring itself cannot be exposed to water (degreasing), otherwise it will rust quickly. car coil springs
