Minecraft is now available for cross-play on any device.
Microsoft's brand new Xbox One X was launched and users received an update on the latest Minecraft news. The main thing to note is that Minecraft can now be played on all devices.
As part of Microsoft's big event at E3 Microsoft spoke about the most recent Minecraft update.
The "Better Together Update" brings together mobile, console and Windows 10 versions of the game.
The update includes improved graphics and cross-platform support that allows Windows 10 and mobile Minecraft gamers to play together.
As part of the update, Minecraft is ditching any special branding that is associated with Minecraft for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch mobile games or VR - they'll all just be called "Minecraft". There's a "Minecraft: Java Edition', which is the original game for PC (still supported).
The company said that the brand's unified design was designed to let buyers know that all players are playing the same game, and that they can play with anyone, regardless of what device they play on.
The devices that are compatible with unison game play include:
- Windows 10 - iOS - Android - XBox One - Nintendo's Switch
Players who own Minecraft for mobile and VR will receive an update for the summer. RYO MAIL Owners of Minecraft for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will get a free update, and all the existing worlds created by players will be available in the new game.
All content that can be downloaded will be available on all devices with the latest update. A mobile-based pack will also work on Xbox and Windows 10 editions.
Minecraft has added a server browser as an added bonus feature in its latest update. It will launch with four servers - Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP and Cubecraft - which lets players join public servers that have monthly users that number in the millions, according to the company.
